Layout and Automation Design Engineer

This role focuses on the layout and automation of photonic integrated circuit designs, combining layout engineering with software automation for a photonics design team.

Ihre Aufgaben

• Execute layout of passive and active photonic components and full circuits
• Contribute to component design and perform DRC and LVS checks
• Develop and maintain internal layout component library and automation scripts
• Interface with process and yield engineering teams on manufacturing requirements
• Design test structures to monitor fabrication capabilities
• Support characterization team with data extraction and test planning
• Document scripts, layout methodologies and library components

Was Sie mitbringen

• MSc or PhD in photonics or a related field
• Minimum 3+ years hands-on experience in integrated optics layout and/or automation programming
• Expert competence with layout tools such as GDSfactory or IPKISS
• Expert proficiency in Python programming for automation and scripting
• Familiarity with code versioning such as Git
• Familiarity with dataset analysis linking experimental data to physical layout features
• Working proficiency in English
