Jobs as Robotics engineer
Robotics engineers combine mechanics, control and perception. They plan cells, program paths, integrate grippers and machine vision, and are responsible for the safety technology that makes a system operable in the first place. In Switzerland this is less often about large production lines and more often about handling in medical technology, laboratory and test automation, and cells for small batch sizes. Day-to-day work consists of reach and cycle time studies, offline programming and simulation, calibration on site and fine work on grippers and feeding systems. On top of that comes risk assessment: where people and robots share the same space, the safety analysis is part of the design, not an appendix. Common are ABB, KUKA, FANUC and Universal Robots, along with machine vision systems, ROS in research-oriented environments and the relevant machine safety standards. Through try&hire you first watch a video, then hold an introductory meeting and then work together. The engineers are employed via staff leasing; salary and insurance run through us. After a few months, both sides decide whether a permanent position follows.
