Jobs as Electrical engineer

Electrical engineers plan what lies behind the panel door: distribution systems, protection concepts, drives, control cabinets, cable routes. They calculate short-circuit currents and selectivity, select components and oversee inspection and acceptance. In Switzerland they work in industry, in building services, at grid operators and in drive technology. The work requires confidence with standards and a certain stubbornness. An installation is accepted, not debated, and anyone who lets the documentation slide only notices at the inspection. Where the work borders on installations, the NIV (the Swiss low-voltage installation ordinance) and the question of the required licence become relevant – this is best clarified in conversation. Typical tools are EPLAN, design and network calculation software and, depending on the environment, knowledge of medium voltage. A good indicator is whether someone has already taken an installation from planning through to acceptance, rather than only handling individual tasks. Through try&hire you first watch a video profile, then hold an introductory meeting and then work together. The engineers are employed via staff leasing; salary and insurance run through us. After three to six months, both sides decide whether this becomes a permanent position.
