Jobs as Software engineer

Software engineers in industry rarely write pure web applications. They build test bench software, configuration tools, interfaces to machines and analyses that still have to work when the plant has been running for twelve years. In Switzerland there is often a regulated context as well: medical technology, pharma, finance-related industry. Day-to-day work is shaped by legacy code, interfaces and requirements that change during development. Good engineers are recognised less by their programming language than by how they read other people’s code, how they test and how they prepare a handover. In this environment, security and data protection are not an extra task. Common are C#, Java, Python, C++ and TypeScript, along with version control, test and deployment automation, and containerisation. In regulated areas there are also documentation obligations, for example to IEC 62304. Through try&hire you first watch a short video profile, then talk for thirty minutes and then work together. The engineers are employed via staff leasing; contract, salary and insurance run through us. After three to six months, both sides decide on a permanent position.
